If you are looking for a symphony of food at your next gathering, Mr. Mozart can perform. Better known as Alois Maierhofer, he is a personal chef, with expertise in American and international cuisine. Maierhofer worked in hotels and restaurants in Hamburg, Frankfurt and Munich, Germany, Vienna and Tirol, Austria, and Zurich, Switzerland, before working as an executive chef for Celebrity Cruise Lines where he was introduced to world-famous chef Michel Roux of France, with whom he studied the art of French cooking. He also studied culinary arts at the
Hotel Hitzle in Austria before coming to America.
Among the celebrities he has cooked for are Jacques Rene' Chirac (French Prime Minister and President,) Helmut Schmidt (German Minister,) Giscard d’Estaing(French President,) Farkas & Findenig (Austrian’s Box Legends,) Peter Wirnsberger (Austrian FIS World Cup Champion,) Sammy Davis Jr (American Entertainer,) Elisabeth Flickenschildt (German actress,) Peter Alexander (Austrian Entertainer and Actor,) And lately in the USA for Jerry Maren and his wife Elizabeth (Jerry is the original Lollipop Kid of
“Wizard of Oz”). Maierhofer and his wife Kara opened Mozart's restaurant in 1993, then in 1997, he started catering events such as air shows, grand prixs and Oktoberfests on the East Coast. In 1997 he also had his own television show, Let's Eat. He became a U.S. citizen in 1996, the same year he earned his FAA pilot's license.
